How a Folkstamp review works

The steps

1. You apply. Choose two or three pieces from your portfolio and attach process files for each: sketches, layered files, work-in-progress screenshots, or time-lapses. You can paste a private link if a file is too large.
2. We hold a short video call. A real person talks with you about your process and asks you to walk through how you made the pieces you chose.
3. We review your files. We check that the process shown matches the finished pieces and fits what you described on the call.
4. We decide. If you're approved, your profile goes into the public directory and you can embed your badge. If not, we tell you why.

What the badge tells a buyer

The badge names the specific pieces we reviewed, shows the review date, and expires after 12 months. It tells you what we saw for those pieces, and nothing more.

What a review can't do

• It is not legal identity verification.
• It does not guarantee that everything an artist makes is human-made. It covers only the pieces reviewed.
• No review can catch every deception. We rely on a real conversation and real process evidence, and we say plainly what was checked so you can judge for yourself.

Your files and privacy

Your files are private and used only for this review. You can ask us to remove them at any time, and we aim to delete them within 90 days of the decision. Details are on the apply page.

Fees

The $20 founding review fee covers the review, not approval or the badge. It is non-refundable once the review call has taken place. If we can't schedule a call with you, we refund you in full. The founding price will rise after the first group of artists.

If something is wrong

If you believe a listing is misleading, contact us at contact@folkstamp.com. If we learn that a reviewed piece was misrepresented, we will remove the listing.
